This artwork is inspired by Goddess Maa Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth, prosperity, and abundance. In South Indian tradition, the kolam is drawn at the entrance of homes as a sacred symbol believed to welcome Maa Lakshmi and invite prosperity into one’s life.

The artist wanted to reimagine the kolam not merely as a traditional pattern, but as a living pathway through which the energy of wealth flows continuously. The interconnected lines symbolize the movement of prosperity, opportunities, success, and blessings finding their way into our lives.

The sculptural textures are inspired by coral formations that grow beneath the ocean’s surface. Corals are among nature’s hidden treasures, building slowly over time to create vast ecosystems rich in abundance.To the artist, they represent the journey of wealth itself—not instant or accidental, but something cultivated through faith, devotion, patience, gratitude, and consistent effort.

Scattered throughout the composition are gold coins, representing Lakshmi’s blessings flowing through the sacred pathways of the kolam. They appear like treasures carried by a divine current, reminding us that prosperity is always in motion and constantly seeking expression.

While wealth remains the central theme of this work, Lakshmi’s abundance extends beyond material riches to include opportunities, harmony, confidence, fulfillment, and growth. Like the coral reef that expands steadily beneath the sea, abundance flourishes when nurtured with devotion and trust.
